Articles
Black History is constantly being researched, discussed, and reinterpreted. This section provides a growing collection of articles, research, websites, films, podcasts, and other material recommended by BHC contributors and participants.
We particularly welcome material that helps uncover connections between local and global histories — including Africa, the Caribbean, Britain, Europe, and the wider African diaspora.
Topics may include slavery and colonialism, African history, resistance and emancipation, Windrush and migration, reparations, heritage, archaeology, family history, literature, music, and culture.
We also want to highlight new community research, which may not otherwise reach a wide audience.

Enslaved: The Lost History of the Transatlantic Slave Trade has been re-versioned to a 4×60 series for BBC Two in collaboration.
The four-part series sheds light on 400 years of human trafficking and the millions of Africans who were shipped to the Americas.
Featuring Guardian writer Afua Hirsch, and investigative journalist Simcha Jacobovici, the documentary is set to give viewers a better understanding of the transatlantic slave trade.
